Having participated twice in Raid De Himalaya, which till date is the toughest and the longest car rally in the country and ranked amongst the tempest in the world, it has been four years for Sarika hitherto in the field of motor sports. Today, she is one of the few professionals and known car rally drivers in the country. She has participated in all kinds of motor sports in India — karting, racing or rallying and has simultaneously emerged triumphant in all.

Initially Sarika started on with her profession as a passion. Extremely proud of her achievements, her family has been very supportive of all her undertakings. Even her elder sister Priyanka accompanies her as a navigator for her rallies further reducing the hassles during the malfunctions.

But it is getting lonely out there. Having won the Desert Storm ladies category twice until now and the overall best driver award last year, Sarika would like to see more serious women racers and professional rallyists. She knows it’s tough, though, and the clutch of sponsors she’s acquired will not come easily to most.

But there are no two ways about it. More corporate sponsors for more women is the only way. Otherwise, this will remain a male dominated area, despite several talented women racers out there. And when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Hey Ho all women, Ready to Zoom in..!!??
